Default 01' SS intake manifold exploded

I have a 01 Monte SS that just had the intake explode into a million pieces. It literally sounded like a bomb going off and I hope there is no other engine damage done. Has this happened to anyone else? I was in the process of jump starting the car when it exploded and the wires were placed correctly. I had tried to crank it several times and it almost started and I'm thinking it might have been dumping fuel into the cylinders as I tried to crank it. Then on the third try when I cranked it is when it exploded. I had recently replaced the plugs, plug wires, pvc valve, and map sensor about two weeks ago as general mantenance and it ran perfectly. It always has and have never had any problems with the car. The reason I had to jump start the car is because I just done replacing a window regulator and guess I had left the car on too long while installing/testing the new window regulator.I ordered a new manifold from dorman that is a copy of the gm factory one and hope to install it once it gets here. Any idea why this might have happened though?

Fuel vapors backed up into the plenum and ignited is my guess.

Typically the intake explodes due to a failed fuel pressure regular (it leaks fuel vapors into the intake, when the engine tries to start, it ignites the vapors and the intake explodes.

When you go through the process of replacing the intake, make sure to replace the fuel pressure regulator at that time.
