Default exploded view of the front end.

Hi guys,

Bought a 2002 Monte that was smashed in the front and but repaired. Now I find myself looking to replace the front bumper cover and drivers side wheel well but I'm not sure if I need more parts than that as I'm not sure if the cover needs some sort of support from the wheel well or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

grab a 10mm deep socket and a ratchet. also need a clip remvoal tool but side cutters work aswell just don't cut the clips lol, pry

take out the headlights to get easier access to the 2 bolts holding it to the fender. 2 on each side.. crawl under the car with a 7 or 8 mm socket and remove the bolts down there. look for any clips aswell. there will also be a couple 7-8mil bolts in each wheel well holding on the fender liner. pull the bumper off.

So yes the bumper is connected to the wheel well but only by a couple of bolts and the fender liner

If you go to GMParts Direct and look up a fender for your car you can click on the diagram link and get an exploded view of the various parts.
