Read the article in this thread about the claybar https://montecarloforum.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=24358
A clay bar will NOT remove scratches. Find a rubbing compound and apply that. Follow with a wax after the compound, Or a polish than Wax.

Possum: becare with Rubbing compound. Try the white stuff. POLISHING compound. Is a finer mix. Be careful not to go thru the clear coat. I've used that with good success. Then use a wax that won't dry white in the chips & scratches. Nothing I know will remove scratches. A scratche is where paint has been removed. Only way to fix that is Paint it.

A polisher/buffer is the best way to remove scratches. Scratches can be removed if there not deep. Most scratches do not go all the way though the clear coat. I usually use M105 to compound out scratches followed by M205 then you can wax it. Ive worked on many cars most cars have tons of scratches around the key hole. Most are minor and are easily removed with a good compound such as M105 as I stated and follow With M205 and most if not all will be gone. If you cant remove a scratch completely but you sure can make them less visible. And if your working my hand you will never remove enough clear coat to make that an issue unless your sanding
ScratchX is a marketing gimmick and never works. It uses fillers as does Ultimate compound and SwirlX so the scratches and swirls will reaper over time.

Get yourself a good buffer like porter cable or Meguire's and a good polish Adam
