I agree with everyone above. It's safer and more "legendary" not to race them then to do it.

As far as the Sentra is concerned, I have no idea what it will run, but if he shifts right the race will be close.

Stock HHR SS' run mid 14's. Your Monte might be running high 15's the way it is right now. He's going to beat you easily if he can shift right.

Throw a turbo on and you'll own almost anything

All I have to say is, no matter how much someone WANTS to live the Fast and the Furious movie with street racing, it's just a bad idea.
- It's not as well protected from having innocent people possibly getting mixed into it (such as someone crossing the street).
- If you get caught by the Law it will certainly turn into a BIG mess.
- Lastly, you have to rely on the people witnessing the start/finish (especially if it's close) are being honest.

If you really want to race, keep it on a track. Then it's fair and it's legal!

But to be honest, I agree with most.... Just let the rumors fly. You know what you got and so long as you're not shooting your mouth off, you have nothing to prove to ANYONE.

^ which is exactly what I said to the guy who called me. He alsotold me the guy in the HHR was seriously impressed with my car and just wanted to see how it would fair against his. The guy in the sentra wouldn't run anything else I have already beaten saying that he thinks its light work. Im not going to race him simply because he is a bad driver, he almost lost control of a stock 4 cyl chrysler sebring when it shifted at 80.

The sentra guy is the typical guy who wants to live the fast and furoius lifestyle. The HHR guy is actually really cool.

I just don't think I want to risk messing my only car up just to shut someone else up.

Ill keep it down to the rare occasion I want to have fun.

i also agree street racing isnt smart, if caught your lookin at jail time and your car impounded. Like stated above keep it on the track, if you really wanna race the hhr have him meet you on the track. If hes cool he might race you anyway.

VERY BAD IDEA! Street racing in some states. They TAKE your car! Not to say what other legal problems you;ll have if that goes down. I don't know anybody on here just yet. But believe me this isn;t good. DO NOT do it. ONE mistake. And your whole life can be ruined BIG TIME. Now your going to do what you think is best. I hope you make the right choice.

Good advice - but what do you mean, "they take your car"? Did something like this happen to you? What reason would they give for taking the car? And did they give it back? I know here in St. Louis they sometimes impound an illegally parked car and charge a fortune to get it back, which seems unfair for a parking violation.

He means they take your car and dont give it back. Im not sure if they do it in the US, but I have heard that in canada if they catch you racing and believe that you use your vehicle for street racing, that they take and crush your car. Can anyone from canada verify that? Taz?

LOVE IT! My thoughts also!

Yup I heard in some of the western and southern states. They impound it and crush it for racing on the street. NO it never happened to me. I hope that after all these yrs. I'm just a little bit brighter then that.
