Question Rockers...

I was wondering if anyone has ever Painted there textured (gray) rockers? I would like the color to flow a bit more better I brought it to a couple body shops some saying yes I can some saying no I cant. which really confuses me.. anyways I dealer from the rockers the smooth ones they want $348 canadian for each side I sayed screw that and there are no montes in the local scrap yards you shound I should take a chance and paint em or order the ones later on when I have more cash?

It's actually quite common to get them painted. A shop should have no problem sanding and smoothing them down and painting them.
