I did look into Lenco initially - not quite sure - but didn't they go out of business if I remember correctly - or were in financial straights and I decided against them because I wasn't sure they would be around. There was a reason why I didn't go with them - I just can't remember why exactly , maybe it was I just didn't have the room to stack the different segments of their tranny in my car.

I just went through my early notes on this build and in addition to the fact that my early research on them found that they were not on good financial ground - they told me that if the primary use of the car would be on the street - they did not recommend using their transmission.

On the chute and wheelie bar bolt on info - great idea - definitely something not just to consider but to use - appreciate the idea. SAM

Well I haven't been keeping up with the latest.....appears you are dead on using a Tremec.

Some guy in Australia ran into the 6's with one and hasn't broken it yet.

Default Tranny upgrade

I also had the tranny machined internally for an oil pump to circulate the oil through a cooler and for additional lubrication on the main shaft. To enchance the life of the tranny under extreme stress.

That may be overkill, but what the heck. What do you run in it? Gear oil?

Default Tranny oil

Tremec has their own proprietary oil much like ATF. Surprised me to be honest.

The fun of building specialized cars. Build it up completely, then tear it all apart, powder coat, paint, trim, sand, etc. then put it all back together again.
