So, there is a different trans for the 3800 SC and 3800 NA? I honestly don't know and if I'm wrong then sorry....

yes the 3800 has a 4t60E and the 3800 s/c has a 4t65E-HD transmission.....

The shafts on the N/A trans is not as strong as the shaft on the SC transmission, hence why they call it an HD lol. There is a difference and if you use a N/A trans on a SC motor it will tear that thing up to shreds!

The main difference is the gearing and the HD diff.

Side note. My car is supercharged and I've launched it now about 30 times (5 of those on drag radials) I've done some burnouts, floored it in reverse, literally beat the crap out of the car. This is all on a regular N/A transmission. It's kind of more of a luck thing.

No disrespect towards your car, I like it, but the GTP is possibly the worst of the Grand Prix line because Pontiac just didn't do them well, aside from the fact that they take premium fuel and need extra maintenance because it's supercharged. The SE and GT models are the best specifically the GT. Both of my brothers own Pontiac Grand Prix GTs and they both run good, aside from one of them but we knew it had a problem when we bought it, we have it fixed and running good now though.

I'm guessing the 4T65E-HD transmission was also an option for the NA vehicles. According to the RPO codes for my '03 SS it came with the HD tranny from the factory.

I don't know as I'd say the GTP was worst in the line-up due to extra mait. and needing premium gas because that just sounds like you don't wanna do the extra mait./lazy, I'm confused on what you mean by "just didnt do them well" ? I love my Supercharged car and my GT as well
