Default My GTP is Officially MOBILE :)

Well it happened. On my way home today in rush hour traffic the transmission went bye bye. I was doing about 15mph when it shifted down into 1st and I heard a clunk, then gave it some gas to keep up with traffic and the RPM's just raced.. Looks like it's time for a rebuild =(

That's a bummer. You gonna be able to do any of the work yourself? Good Luck on the repair.

Major bummer. Guess you'll have to use some of that cash you wanted for body parts on the tranny

Sorry to hear about the bad luck - it sounds like you and GM's still don't get along.

I'll be getting a rebuild. To be honest I should have had seen this coming Pontiac's + Transmissions never have mixed well together. Some of my income tax? More like all of it! lol These tranny's are expensive as hell as buying one cost about $1750

No, sounds like a car that has 173k on it and has probably been WOT a few times before. The car runs great, do I regret trading? Of course not I love this car and have already grown an attachment with it. It's no where near a POS, sometimes these things happen, just because a tranny goes out doesn't make the car a POS. I can tell you one thing though, the value on this car will only go up, unlike the rest of Pontiac's fleet the GTP's (especially coupes)
