I've seen enough

'97-and up 3800's have 4t65-e. The supercharged 3800's have 4t65-e hd.

N/A 4t65-e gear ratio for a Grand Prix had 3.29...

Supercharged 4t65-e = 2.93

Other cars with the same engine/trans sometimes have different ratios... Park Avenues, for example.

OP - Sorry about your Grand Prix, but if he had an N/A tranny in there, then you need to check your gear ratio in the PCM... You may still have problems... Or he may have sold the car because of the wrong transmission that he replaced... Good luck in any case.

Actually, the 97 L36s still had the 4T60E. At least they did on the Grand Prixs. 97 was the bastard year for transmissions with the L36.

97 was also the bastard year for L67's

I'm fairly sure 97 GT's had 4t65-e's...

Nope, I'm absolutely certain that the GT had the 4T60E. We've talked about it on GPONA very extensively.

Yeah I don't know why they used the 4T60E on the GTs. I can understand the SEs with the 3100 but I'm surprised that they went with it on the GTs.

Go on craigslist and look up how much people are selling GTPs vs GTs, the GTs are selling for a higher price than most of the GTPs. Supercharged engines do have things go wrong with them more often than a N/A car does. That's why I love Ferrari.

On craigslist, well any car sight really in Iowa nayway GTPs are more unless the miles are higher, the GTPs seem to be more well liked too because they usually have a lot more miles than the GTs, the dealership I got my GT from had 3 Grand Prixs, a Gold GT year 2000, a Silver 2001 GT and a brown 2001 GTP, the gold had 134k and they wanted 4k, the silver GT (which I ended up with) had 109k and they wanted $6,000, and the brown GTP had 110k and they wanted $8,000. Same year as the one I got but a 2 grand more, plus it was a sedan or I would havet tried to trade him staight for the GTP but I hate sedans.
