My GTP is Officially Immobile :(

Exactly. I don't see how a supercharger makes an engine any less reliable. It's like saying the 3800 camaros are better then the ls1 camaros because the ls1 camaros break more rear ends/transmissions. With horsepower comes more work. That doesn't make the car any worse.

The engines themselves are just as reliable as the N/A versions. I have been working on 3800s for YEARS, so I have a ton of first hand experience to back this up. I've seen many L67s (the supercharged version) with well over 200,000 miles on them with only normal maintenance. If that's not reliable then I don't know what is. You can't go by what people are asking for cars on craigslist to tell how reliable things are.
Most cars are craigslist right now around here that are below book value are people trying to get rid of them because they lost their jobs and have to pay bills, or they don't feel like getting screwed by the dealer at trade in. That skews the prices greatly. Yeah, they may break a few more transmissions, but you can turbo a N/A 3800 and the exact same thing will happen. I've seen a ton of GTs priced well above book value and guess what? They're still sitting there, have been for 6 months or more. People who want to sell quickly will drop the price to make it happen, especially those who just lost a job.

On craigslist, well any car sight really in Iowa nayway GTPs are more unless the miles are higher, the GTPs seem to be more well liked too because they usually have a lot more miles than the GTs, the dealership I got my GT from had 3 Grand Prixs, a Gold GT year 2000, a Silver 2001 GT and a brown 2001 GTP, the gold had 134k and they wanted 4k, the silver GT (which I ended up with) had 109k and they wanted $6,000, and the brown GTP had 110k and they wanted $8,000. Same year as the one I got but a 2 grand more, plus it was a sedan or I would havet tried to trade him staight for the GTP but I hate sedans.

GTP's are NOT cheaper, and if anything the 3800 SC engine are more reliable. Why? Well lets see the transmission has a stronger shaft so it's not likely to break at high speeds, oh and the intake manifold is not made from plastic, it's made from aluminum.
One thing I can say about the GTP's that make their value so much more is this. It has HUD, has performance shift mode, SC 3800 II motor, stronger transmission, and suspension is not the same as it would be on the N/A SC 3800's. Only reason a GTP will be cheaper than a N/A 3800 II is if there is something wrong with it. The GTP's hold their value up very well and the coupe GTP's are not very easy to come by.

Not to argue because its really opinion based, but a lot of those GTP ads don't mention miles and I'm pretty sure the first gtp link is a wrecked car the mirrors dont match and I'm pretty sure the bumpers been replaced, and the last GT link the guy will never see $9,000 for that

Not to mention not all GT's have HUD, notice in those GT ad's only 1 of the shows HUD on the dash and one 1 states that it has a HUD, where as the GTP comes standard with it.
Plain and simple, I'd rather have a GTP over a GT any day of the week, and theres no reason not to. They are just as reliable if not more reliable due to better quality parts.
