You could also get a ZZP Canned tune, and they will give you the option for a core charge, so you have zero down time.

Ok,Ok i went to the site and thats pretty cool all the extra little things that you get out of that PCM. now the only thing thats kind of scarry a little bit is that list of stuff you will have to try in order to get the car crunk up. like you know cutting it off for 35 minuts and all that it sounds really complicated. but dude if you say its worth it i'll trust ya and i'll try it thanks...

There is a security system in our cars, that's the whole purpose. Since ZZP programs your Vin# there shouldn't be an issue but there CAN be. If you can't get the car to start, you can just simply plug your stock PCM back in, contact ZZP, and everything will be okay.

The important thing to remember though, is to modify before getting that PCM. That should be basically the last thing you get, so you can tell ZZP what mods you have first so you don't need a retune.

Just an FYI from my experience.... I contacted ZZP before PCMforLess.com and rattled off the mods I was doing to my Monte and they informed me they'd have to work with the car in person to help me out. Since at that time a port matched LIM was not in my list, I suspect because of my ported L67 Throttle Body.

So I'm not sure how ZZP on average works with modded cars. Since I could not reasonably get the car to them, I went with PCMforLess.com (recommended by a friend who's modded a few late 90's Vettes).

I will send in my PCM $150, yes you pay AND send them your PCM. They then take your PCM make tuning modifications and send it back to you.

The other option has a core charge, where they tune and send you one, and you return your stock one afterwards to get a refund.
