Default cold air intake finished

Well guys i fianlly finished my intake project, man does it make a big difference. I will have the pictures soon.
We took the u bend pipe, measured it and made two different cuts. took the two parts welded them back together to make an extended "L" and it fit perfect.we took the pipe back out of the car and got it ready to powder coat it black. after letting it dry we put it on to the factyory air meter, down into the fender and brought the filter from the bottum of the car and tightened it on to the pipe. and thats it. project intake monte was finished.

Putting the cold air intake on allowed me to realize how bad these engines are sophicating. just looking at the factory filter you could tell that the air flow was majorly restricted. i did have one suprize along the way, i was not aware that the computer was in the bottum of the factory intake box. so after about 5 minutes of brain storming we decided to cut the factory intake box along the split where they glued it, we then put the bottom part back on the car and sit the computer back where it was.
this weekend we are going to try and make a cover that fits the factory intake box to completely cover the computer and keep it out of harms way.

An hour after we put the intake on the car we went out to test it and see if we notice a difference, which we did. But as we sat at a stop light a black jetta pulled on the side of me. he preceeded to break torque his car trying to get me to race him, perfect test to break in the cold air intake. soon as the light turned green, while leaving it in "D" i punched chirping the tires. by the time i made it into second gear i let off for the fact that his front bumper was on my back bumper and i was still pulling. At the next stop light he would not look over at me as i preceeded to taunt him this time.

Nice setup... What did it end up costing you to put everything together? What kind of filter did you end up using?

The next question is, when do I get mine??
