Default revving type noise when driving car

i have a 2001 monte ls 3400. when i am driving the car it makes a revving typ noise secondary to the normal sound when accelerating. it shifts ok so i dont think its the tranny. it almost sounds like it is tied to a pulley somehow. could it be a uv joint? the serpentine belt is new.when car is in gear and i put it in neutral and hit the pedal it makes the nois as well. but not when the car is parked?? please help i am baffled???

Is it a whining noise you are hearing? Not quite sure what you mean by reving noise.

well considering it does it when you not driving then i doubt its the u-joint. how long ago did u replace the belt? the new belt will b alot tighter than the old one and the pulleys may not be used to the extra pressure. did u spray some lube on the pulleys when u replaced it?
