New fuse box. Engine not revving.
Hi! I'm new to this forum so if there's some details I'm leaving out, please let me know...
I have a 2006 Monte Carlo 3.5L 6 cyl. and recently ran into some problems.
I took it to the mechanic because the car would turn over, sputter then turn off. It would do this for about 45 minutes and then eventually would start. Then in order to drive, I had to wait for the engine to warm up or else the tachometer would buck and it was just not pleasant.
However, once warmed up, it would drive pretty much fine. So I took it to the mechanic and he confirmed it was a Mass airflow sensor. Great!
Until he replaced it and notified me the car wasn't getting any fuel. Weird, but at least he pinpointed the problem....Not so much.
After he replaced the fuel pump, he told me the fuse box was rusted and corroded and says water must have gotten into it. I ordered a used fuse box that came today and he popped it in.
Car started and ran great right away but when he hit the throttle, nothing happened.
He thinks it could be something electrical or that the new fuse box would need to be reprogrammed. Anyone else have something like this happen?
The only other work that's been done on the car has been the body control module replaced.
So, hopefully there's a solution that doesn't involve me getting the car towed to chevy for a reprogramming.
Sorry for the long post and thank you guys in advance for the help.

Have an update...I took the car out of the first mechanic. He really didn't seem to know anything. Brought it to a new guy and he fixed a lit of the electronics. Now the car starts right up but when you press on the throttle, you have to jam it down to get any response out of it...He's had it for about a week and has ruled out the cat converter and now he's basically trying to troubleshoot with nothing really to go on...
