Just go stock rad. My engine is built and I'm running a t66 turbo on a stock rad. Coolant temps are fine. I'm battling trans temp issues....

Great to hear, thanks for the input; that's what I'm going to do...Also, I noticed the stock L-67 on the Monte comes with the same rad, so if it's good for GM, it's good for me..lol

I'm making a lot of power and all the turbo pipes are real close to the trans which don't help. I think I need to adjust some trans tables who h will help a little with temps. Highway cruising trans temps sit around d 195-205 but if I'm beating on it she gets hot fast. I am gonna try deleting the factory trans cooler and just run my aftermarket one to see if that helps as well.

I havmt dynoed the new setup yet but I'm estimating 500-550whp. I am in the process of another trans build as we speak actually, found some very hard to find GMR trans parts so they will be getting installed.

That is peaking on hot (for me), but gd if that's not lots of power to justify it!!!

What type of suspension are you running?

(trans diff) Close diff Torsen/quaife type? I only knew of one guy that knowledgeably in the GMR (notability the quaife) on the east coast but sadly he had passed before I had a chance to work with him for my trans build. smh...

I waited too long to try and beef my 03 up some more and now I'm paying for it so I understand your struggle...Somewhat, seeing as you have about 300+hp on me..haha

Bumping my slightly old thread... I may have fudged up when ordering the 1inch think "ZZP" radiator. I looked at my fan shroud as it currently sits and it's pretty close to the headers, so they may not work.

Anyone know if the GTP fans are thinner? I've got the line for a set of a 2000.

I know someone mentioned intrigue fans and a few others, but will my car command them on just the same?

You could always switch to pusher fans. 99-05 grand am fans are pretty low profile. Yes other fans will come on at the same temps.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'm going to head tomorrow over to the parts store to check out a set of Impala fans, I should know instantly if they are lower in profile than what I've got now. The mounts and everything appear to be the exact same, I just have to see if it sticks out (back) as much.

Thanks for the heads up though, I now have a few backups to look to.

Johnny.
