Default Radiator Fan

I have a 2001 Monte Carlo SS and the Radiator Fan runs from the time I turn the vehicle on untila few minutes after I shut the engine off. The Water Temp Gauge is also not working. I have changed the Temperature Sensor and that did not cure it. Any ideas on what would be casuing this problem? Thanks in advance for the help!

You replaced the coolant sensor, correct? Did you replace the thermostat also? If not, then it's your thermostat. I had the same problem exact problem. I replaced the thermostat and the coolant sensor at the same time. Not sure which one fixed it, but I'm guessing you replacing the thermostat will fix it. Quick and simple fix. Remember to put the gasket on the lip of the thermostat, someone didn't do that and the thermostat housing started to leak. [8D]

It is the thermostat! I had the exact same problem and the tech II kept reading engine coolant sensor. I replaced the one in the fron right part of the engine (under the thermostat) and that didn't fix the problem, but when i replaced the thermostat I also flushed my system and put new hoses on and then the problem was cured. In the mean time, open up the drivers door when the car is off, then turn the key to aux power and back to the off position and it will turn the fans off so your battery wont die!
