Ok, back to the radiator issue...Did the 2004-2005 sc Montes come with bigger radiators? If so, why can't I just drop in one of those (assuming it's bigger)? The trans-line fittings?

According to Rock Auto, the 2003 NA and 2005 SC Monte Carlo radiators are the same number and are all 5/8" thick

However, if you look at a 2000 GTP you get different part numbers and even a 1" radiator option.

Thanks for the reply Chibi...

I did notice that, so I'm wondering if it's even worth it...I mean, if an 05 Monte can take it, I don't see why except an 03 can't, well, except for more heat due to higher compression??? Maybe?

Aside from feeling it may not be totally needed, my other concern is the mount type and fittings (I may be able to swap fittings) but mounting type???

Cliffs; suggestions (keep stocker, or try and do this)?
Anyone sc'd with stock rad? Still run the same temps?

I'm supercharged with my stock radiator.

In traffic my temperatures climb higher than I would like, but I'm also having some fan issues. My tune is commanding them on, but the temp sensor isn't allowing them to, and that sensor is a real PITA to get to right now haha.

How much higher are we talking (Bit higher than mid temp section)? I'd imagine that the novi would produce a bit less heat than the root types (m90), but still concerning as my SLP header already cause a bit of heat as well...

I run a casper fan switch but I'm also having issues with my fans...When the ECU commands them on, one will turn the correct direction, and the other opposite, essentially negating cooling. However, when I hit the switch fans, they cool like crazy...Even stranger is when the heater is on, they work fine...But this is a different story entirely.. Hope to get it sorted out when I fix the radiator...

I'm going to see if I can find a place that has both 98 GTP rad vs stock so I can check them out (fitting, mounts, etc)...I might just have to stay stock and do the SSIC soon rather than later when I go SS kit...

Sitting in traffic mine can climb to 212 degrees.

When I am driving though, the car stays a consistent 175-180. Granted on those really hot and humid days it can sit around 195 and my intake temps can be around 120

You aren't running any aux fans or anything I take it? 210-212 is middle of gauge correct? Whenever mine hit mid section or over (in traffic) I just pop the fans on and it will keep it in the first third of the gauge (165-180?)...

I run a scangauge that tells me the exact temp.

I'm not running the aux fans, I need to fix my fans still.

Ahhhh...I really wished I had done this stuff way back when, when info was easy to come by, instead of getting another vice (riding/trackdays)..

Will report back what I find or my route...

Is Zipper still active here; wonder what he runs...

Bump!

OK, I think I've decided to just do the stock rad. setup since I can't find all the info I need... Oh well, it will just force me to get an inner-cooler sooner...lol
