Does anyone know which motor mount I need to use when I drop a 2005 Impala 3400 engine into a 1997 MC that had a 3100? I got an Anchor mount like the 3100 had and it does not fit the 3400. I am worried that the 3400 mount might not fit the frame. I did not get a old mount with new engine. I thought I would ask before I run out and buy another motor mount.

To my knowledge, you should be able to pull the mounts off the 3100 and they will bolt up directly to the 3400.

 

The 3100 and 3400 blocks are virtually identical. You shouldn't have an issue by using the 3100 mounts that are currently on the car.

 

I just looked up the mounts and they all cross reference the same for your monte and the car you got the 3400 from. So should not be any firmest issues. Are you able to post any pics of what you are working with??

 

Thank you all, I went back and looked at the 3100 and took the bracket off, that was my problem. I felt kind of red faced, but I am learning.
