Default Monte Carlo issues

Since I've purchased my 2001 Monte: The Day Time Running lights have went out and have not come back on yet. The cars take off is a little slow, but it does shift OK. I hear a strange nose on the driver side when I turn, it doesn't sound like a cv axle(click, click, click, click, click) it sounds like maybe something in the steering( like metal grinding or something). Lately sometimes the car wont start, but not because of the battery, it's as if it is out of gear or something. To get it to start I would have to get out and make sure the car is level in park, then it will start, when I put the car in park it rocks back and forth and when I'm on hills my car roles backward. These are good cars, but as with all used cars you have to put some work into them. Any ideas or comment would be helpful. Thanks.

Day Time Running lights could be a fuse blown.

IDK about your take off, is it different than usual? Any other symptoms? Clean filters, plugs, wires, etc?

Strange noise could be your ISS (intermediate steering shaft) or a wheel hub assembly.

If the car rolls backwards with your parking brake set, then you would probably need to adjust that.

I know when I hada '93 Grand Am with a 3300 v6, the MAF sensor was creating a random hesitation when taking off from a dead stop. I also understand in the more recent v6 models, especially the 3800, the MAF is known to be a problem point for a few different symptoms.

Would the MAF trigger any codes?
My car rocks when I put it in park and it rolls back on hills. How would I adjust this? Any ideas.

The MAF doesn't always have to throw a code. I think it only throws a code when there is no more signal going to it, but if the signal gets low it can give you problems without a code.
