Default 95 Monte Carlo A/C issues

I am trying to get this a/c system to work. The compressor is not kicking on when i turn the vent dial to the three blue a/c icons.

The blower fan does kick on like it should when i turn the fan speed dial.

The temperature switch works too.

I checked for power at the a/c compressor and there is none. I bought a new relay and have installed it both ways and still nothing.

I can not seem to find a fuse for the circuit and this chilton does not specify for a monte carlo.

Any help would be nice.

Thank You,
Collin

Check the pressure in the system. If the pressure is too low, the A/C compressor will not kick on.

There should be a 10amp fuse in a fuse block marked a/c. There is also a diode that looks like a fuse but it's black and has a line with an arrow, at the point of the arrow it will have a line intersecting the opposite way. It is there to stop a voltage spike from frying the PCMif it is missing or bad or installed backwards it won't turn on either.

The pressure does need to be quite high on some cars to turn on the system. How do you know that the pressure switch is ok? What testing have you done?
With the engine off make sure the compressor turns freely. And if you have a multimeter check to make sure that the electrical 2 pin plug at the compressor clutch is getting 12v when a/c command signal is on. If you find out that the charge is low don't use sealers of the quick fix refill stuff it will ruin your a/c components. If your car is a 95 it should be 134a.
