I have a 2002 Monte Carlo SS 3.8. The power steering works and works well, but sometimes it gets very stiff. Fluid is full, it's been bled. Is the pump going bad? Is it already bad? Or could it be the belt? It makes no noise. And seems to come out of it when you rev the motor. No consistency in the problem. Help!!!!

 

If you rev it and the condition improves I think is suggesting the pump may not be working right. While revving it, does the pump make any strange noises?

 

You said it was bled, but was the fluid changed at all??

Not too bad to stick a turkey baster in there to suck some old stuff out and put some new in.
