Default 2002 Monte Carlo Fuel pump location?

Hello everyone. I've got a bad fuel pump to replace and I don't know where it is located. I know it's near the fuel tank but am I gunna have to remove the whole tank? I saw on WIKI answers that somebody said it could be done with taking out the back seat or somethin like that. thanks for any help!

Negative! You'll need to relieve the pressure from the fuel lines and remove the negative batt lead. You can gain access to the fuel pump through a small access panel on the floor behind the rear seat by taking it out, easy if you can find all the bolts holding it down, rear seat trim panel and trunk liner. Or you can take the tank out, but remember to empty it before you remove it. With either procedure it will take you about the same time to get to the FP.

I got all the way till the hole then deiced to quit since it was late. again I thank you for your help

Hi this is kateriyan here ,
Are you running the tank close to empty? Uses fuel as a coolant for pump
Have you changed the filter sock?
Have you cleaned the tank?

There is a schrader valve (looks like a valve stem kind of.) on your fuel line. Has a blue type screw cap on it. Should be underneath the engine cover if I remember right.

Have you changed the filter sock?
IMO if you go through all the work of buying a new sock and putting it on, you may as well just spend the extra money and stick a new pump in, they're not that bad.
