So a couple days ago I bought an 01 SS (not supercharged) as I couldn't find anything when researching to suggest they are electrical nightmares, but now it seems that's exactly what they are.

Today, once while parked while running and the a/c on, once while driving, and once when I started the car to go somwhere:

-Gauge cluster failed, all gauges set to 0/empty except for the volt gage, which was where it should be.
-a/c compressor shut off
-overhead display read only --
-radio says CAL error
-all of the above happens simultaneously
-car continues to run and drive seemingly normal

The first 2 times I was able to "fix" the problem by shutting the car off, removing the key, turning it back to "on" (not necessarily starting) and repeating a few times until everything came back. This last time that didn't help. The car stil starts and drives.

I can find nothing that sounds anything like this issue. So, what's the damage? Did I just buy a junk car?
