good lord no, the stock amp is tiny. puting in an after market amp requires wiring my friend. you can do low level inputs off of your amps harness into amps, well accualy idk if the amps i posted have those inputs. they work off the after market RCA;'/s that come off after market decks how ever newer cars like some scions have rcas on the back of stock decks. also the boss sound system has rcas, if you have that package you might be able to use those im not sure.

Well my headunit has CD and Casette and i have the factory amp. Like the speakers sound ok but cant really turn them up loud and have that bass there aswell, even without bass they get a bit distorted. I was looking at the alpine type r 6x9's Alpine Car Speakers and Subs SPR-69 (6" X 9") from PowerLine

would these work?

Any Speakers will work. You will have to modify the wires where they connect to the speakers. Keep in mind that the sound in your car will be different from the sound in the showroom. And the power output of your Stock amp will make a difference in the richness of the Base!

I know i would have to modify the wires, ive done it before. If i want to upgrade the stock amp then what would be the best way to do it? I would like an amp that would fit directly in the stock amps place if possible?

Has anyone replaced the factory amp? And if so what brand did you use and how did you do it?

if you wanna do a simpler direct in line amp, Alpine makes a little 65x4 watt amp, it can be wired in line much the same way your current stock amp is and it can be mounted just about anywhere its pretty small.

Alpine KTP-445U (ktp445u) Universal Head Unit Power Pack for Use

a nice alpine deck would go with it well hint hint

this new version is fiferent, legacy versions had no rca's. so you can cut off those ends and hard wire or use them off an after market deck. id suggest an after market. i suggest after market everything honestly, it just simplifys things, and i have a perfect single dinn bracket for your monte carlo that'll give your monte 10x the cool.

this is my mount, with an eclipse 7200mkii mounted in it, was a reallllll classy install ik loved it lol just wish the deck had more features, just dindt have enough for me so i went full featured navi unit so obviously this custom 140$ bracket sits and collect dust ive been looking to unload it for quite some time tehe.

wow that does look pretty cool! But when i do upgrade the deck i wanted to go for a double din touchscreen As for the amp would it be powerful enough to power 4 new Alpine type r speakers? That would be the sound system im going for

yeah that'd be something alpine would even sell as a package I'd imagine.

for double dinn, anything under 500$ i suggest the pioneers their the best in that range, but not so much in the top end nav units.
