Just got the finished estimate for the Monte. $2421 in repair costs (this is prior to my $500 deductible). I just have to wait for them to give me the green light to bring it in (they are estimating 5 days to repair).

Finally, some good news! The body shop I'm going to has been backed up, but I called them today and they said they are looking at being able to take it in Monday morning. But, since I could not get it to them until after work, they are fine with dropping off Saturday.
Also, I was talking with a guy yesterday (my former neighbor, big car guy, very OCD about his cars and he works for a body shop, something I forgot about when this mess happened). When I told him where my Monte is going to, he said I have nothing to worry about, I'm in great hands with that shop.

That's always a good thing to hear, especially when it's coming from another car guy. Hope everything goes well with the repair.

Well, the Monte Carlo was almost done today, but did not pass my inspection.
- OEM replacement headlight has a thick bead of sealant in the bottom
- fender to hood alignment does not match at the top
- the original headlight and fender have a noticeable gap
- a trim piece has the wrong plastic rivet pieces
The shop made notes and said they will go over it and fix these items. Plus side, the paint match looks great. A little more time needs spent.
