I had the old school cell phone antenna on the back window for the onstar. I peeled it off since I don't subscribe.

Only thing I have to say is. Everyday I get up or when I get off of work. I CAN'T WAIT TO DRIVE MY 2006 SS ! She's one of the nicest looking car's inside & out that i have owned. I never park close to anyone at anytime. one reason is so I can look at her while I;m walking towards her. She's BEAUTIFUL. She runs good. Has plenty of room. Has all this oldman needs. But don't Hot Rod it. Yeah If I have to pass someone. That's nice to do ...Love that! Never follow to close if i'm on the freeway or surface street. ( stone chips) I treat her like a Sunday going to meetin car I LOVE THIS CAR.......

The fact that its a V6 fwd, for an SS it should be a V8 RWD. Blind spots as mentioned, and she bottoms out over any little thing......I still am fond of her

Default 1981 Monte Carlo Turbo

Things that bother me about my 81 Monte Carlo. The list is long and most of it is because of poor maintenance by previous owners. My T-Tops leak when it rains. My dash lights don't work, my power seats don't work, my A/C doesn't work. The interior smells musty. My radio doesn't work. My dash board is all cracked. My car has lots of rust. Starting my car is some times difficult because it floods easily. My heat doesn't work. Putting baby car seats into the back seat is a royal pain. I have not been able to document how my car was built.

Default Things that bother you about your Monte...

2003 Monte Carlo SS (Purchased new)

Seat belt retract-er drivers side has not worked since new
Every time I complained about it all they did was squirt some lubricant
into it and still NO GOOD. THEY NEVER TOOK CARE OF IT.
Fake dual exhaust
Coating on steering wheel controls flaked off - rarely used them
All badges are red same as the body - should be other colors
Cup holders too small
Cup holder in front hard to get at and use
Overhead console remote buttons extremely hard to program

Other then these issues it has been a great automobile.

A lot of these things are minor but still bother me

I have a ton of chipped paint on the front
Rusted and dirty rims
Console paint tearing
Rubber steering wheel chewed at the top, button labels scratched
Put my pace car decals on all wrong and crooked, will definitely have it professionally done next time
Little to no cool features like heated seats, DIC, etc

It helps a little bit, but having the bracket be adjustable is so much better. As is, the seat belt puts enough pressure on my neck to make it uncomfortable. So much so, that I was thinking about getting some "Monte Carlo" embroidered seat belt shoulder padsh:
Oh, yes, this ^^^^

I am short and the seat belt was almost strangling me. I did purchase a seat belt should pad and use it up by my neck! (This does not bother tall people so much.)

Oh, wow. I am about to get rid of my '04 Monte and didn't know how problem free it has been until I read this entire thread!

Yes, there are a few things I have not liked about it, starting with it being a two door car. And very, very heavy doors at that. My driveway is on a slight incline. Enough of an incline that when I first owned this car (I was used to 4 doors) I actually got my leg slammed a few times by the driver door before I learned my lesson - do not trust door to stay open when car is on any incline!

I already mentioned the seat belts are unfriendly to shorter people.

No front ashtray in mine. But one of those little plastic "cup style" ashtrays (the kind with a little hole in the top for the ashes to go down into) fits nicely into the useless front cup holder.

cant turn off the drl:s
the interior plastic is thin and cheap
water seems to infiltrate va rious cavities from strange locations wtf?

I wish the outer decals like the ss and montecarlo side emblems were not the same color as the car so they would stand out a bit. \

I love my car tho...sweet smooth engine and rides nice on the highway.
