Things that bother you about your Monte...
Correct. Onstar would be gone too since it uses the stereo's speakers.
The only keylock is on the driver side door. I lost my factory keyless entry and I have to open drivers door and unlock my passenger side just to open that door.

Some of these changed w/ the years. For example, my 2000 has a key hole on both doors. In 2004 you could get a "Supercharged SS" and in 2005 all SS's were supercharged...the N/A 3800 became known as the LT.
The inside door panels have a tendency to creak, or make that annoying plastic on metal rubbing sound when you put the slightest bit of weight on it resting your arm during driving.
Retired moderator Mickey fixed that problem on his 2003 Monte by putting a piece of tape on the door before re-installing the plastic door panel. So the plastic wouldn't be directly rubbing the metal door anymore.

The 2006 Monte also has only a keyhole on the driver's door. And, there's no keyhole on the trunk, either! The only way to unlock the trunk is with the remote, or using the button inside the car.
The only thing that i sort of dont like about my 87 monte ss is the gas mileage, and the trunk. It has a hump towards that back that is .5" too small to fit my subwoofer box so i have to have the subs against the back and can't fit my t tops in there anymore. So now i put the t tops in their baga nd put them in the back seat with the seatbelt on haha
No, I think the black thing on the roof is for XM, on mine if I cup my hand over it, I lose satellite radio reception. On-Star I think is built into the rear window grid. On some older Montes, there was a small antenna sticking out the rear window, but I think by 2004 they integrated the On-Star into the grid. I'm not sure because my car never had On-Star to begin with.
