I've had my Monte in the garage for some various maintenance. I've been having some steering..... "spongieness" for lack of a better word.
while changing motor mounts I had my nose almost touching the front control arm bushings when I noticed that they are separating.
It's still in thg he garage up on Jack stands waiting for the new control arms and tie rod ends to arrive.
I've got the arms totally ready to drop out.
I replaced my control arms last summer. I bought Dorman arms (and I like some of the construction better than the original arms and some other after market arms, such as some extra welds in places). But I replaced the ball joints with Moog (which also had grease fittings). I replaced that vertical bushing with an updated design from Moog (a non-rubber one, this type works much like a ball joint). Drove the car half the summer with that and all is good. Then parked for the winter.
