A square cowl on a round car doesnt go together. I think that rounded cowl on that orangecamaro would look good on the monte.

 

if it was about an inch lower and a little wider it would give ita much better flow, like it would belong with the car, the way it is right now makes it stick out like a sore thumb.

 

Exactly what I was thinking. That and edges that weren't so sharp.

I would rather go with a cowl hood than a scoop when I finally get more money, but I like these here better...

I'm glad I finally got to see a cowl on an '06-'07 Monte, I've been wondering what it would look like, but mine would preferably be functional, that one looks blocked off, a bit more rounded to fit the car, and be narrower at the front.

 

I've never been a fan of cowl induction hoods either, but I agree that if it were more rounded and lower it might look OK. Personally, I think a twin-scoop hood similar to thoseon 05-06 GTO's would look great on a Monte.

 

i like the hood scoop better...hence y i went wit it, altho if it was a lil more rounded i would have no objection to that on any monte

 

I think it looks good, but I see why people don;t like it. The problem I see is that he put it on a plain/base MC. (no offence, I can say that cause I own a plain/base MC)

Put that hood on an SS with some GFX and lower it and it will look hot.

this use to be an LS and the hood looks great on it

 

Duane gave some pretty good advice. NEVER fix up your car to please others. Do it to please... YOU!!!!

I do agree the scoop doesn't look right on a newer Monte. Sorry.




I've never liked cowl hoods. They do a good job sucking in clean air and getting rid of heat, but I don't like the look of them.

Note to self: Don't invite members of MCFs over to hang out.
