Slow Progress
Hi All:
I just got my first Monte Carlo. It is a 1984 V6 with 25,000 original miles on it.
Today was day two for trying to get her back on the road. Everything seems pretty straight forward...except for the spark plug on the passenger side nearest to the firewall. I have to say that it is the trickiest plug I have ever had to change. Does anyone have any tips for gaining access to this plug?
Thanks

RE: Slow Progress
Thanks for the replies.
I agree that I should drop in a 350....and that is the plan when funds allow. Until then, I am hoping to get the little six banger running. If it was just the matter of dropping in the motor, it wouldn't be a problem. It would be the need of beefing up the suspension and changing the tranny that is keeping me from doing the engine swap for now. Most of my extra cash is going into my 68 Camaro right now.
I will try and get a clear pic of the area and post it here.
Thanks again.

RE: Slow Progress
Well, I figured out how to get access to the last spark plug. I found the best way was to turn the wheels all the way to the left, then jack up the right side of the car. Then I was able to get to the plug through the wheel well using an extension and a universal on my ratchet.
I spent more time staring at the problem and more time cursing then I did changing the plug. Next time it will be easy.
I hope this information will be useful to someone.
