My monte is dead :(
The 3800 is not a common ticker, Frank got some bad luck

And yes Frank, don't overwhelm yourself, the L26 UIM isn't as much work to put on the L26 already lol. That's just all modifications for the L36.
lol how much though?
we'll see though, thats not to worry about just yet. im going to order the ZZP adapter in a few. now with that adapter.. isnt it going to block off the coolant passages that are on the TB? or is it ported on the other side to keep that coolant passage? also the IAC.... will it still function the way it should with that adapter? lol
and mitch, my motor was still making that ticking noise.. never knew what it was but it must've been bad to blow my motor :p lol
idk if i wanna take it apart anymore to figure out what it is since i have to return it for my core refund :p

im done for today... up next is removing the axles. now john/turbomonte said i can just pry them out of the trans case? i only unbolted my struts from my steering knuckles, hopefully that gives me enough room to pop them out?
i was also wondering if its possible to take out the eng/trans together without having to remove the master cylinder?
looks like i would have enough room to wiggle it out, not sure though

so any thought on those coolant passages when using the TB adapter? or will it be just fine without them?

Now, there were other reasons I needed to have my Monte tuned, but that was the beginning.
Here's a page I talk about my L67 T-body modding:

As for those mounts here's the thread I have them posted in (and a lot of other crap I need out of my garage)

I completely agree. The 3800 is a different beast then the 3100/3400. The 3400 is based off the block and design of the 3100 and that 3100 has a slight valve tick and it's normal. Some a tad louder then others, but still.... normal....
There are some other ways to go about it, but I think the write up I shared is one of the best. Such as I believe the author of that thread said you could use a valve cover breather to solve the PCV issue.... you could also make a slight change to the vac lines and extend them to the throttle body (instead of all that drilling to the UIM).... leaving just that adapter plate to fit a throttle body. FYI - if you swapped to an L67 T-body, stay with '00 and up (has the MAF hump instead of a MAF bridge). When I did my custom L67 T-body for my Monte, the only reason that T-body to my knowledge REQUIRED re-tuning of the PCM was I diliberately when with a 97-99', removed the MAF bridge (so it's a WIDE open unit) and that changes how the MAF sensor reads the air by altering the inlet.

then i'll just block off the ones on the alum. UIM
i just ordered the ZZP adapter too
so does anyone have any tips on getting those darn axles out? lol
you should be fine without it, I know when I upgrade my TB, you have to bypass that part of the cooling system.
