My monte is dead :(
On my way back from the junkyard

went to the JY to look for an oil dipstick, my L36 one was broken and the L26 one was good.... so when i had both motors i just remembered that i switched the dip sticks on them.... idk what the hell i was thinking
so the good dipstick left with the old motor haha but anyways i got two good ones today for $5. rather pay $5 for two than $20 for one at the dealer lol
i also asked for this piece while i was at the dealer>>>

They had 1 in stock for $30!!
anyone know where i can get it cheaper??
i mostly just need the piece that connects to the TB because mine is cracked, i have to extend it to reach with this L26 UIM but i already have that figure out...
you can see how bad its cracked lol
Here's my pcv line connected under my TB
its wrapped in wire loom and electrical tape. one concern though.... its sitting about an inch from the crossover piece, i hope it doesnt get hot enough to melt it
I was looking for a cleaner look but this should do for now
TB isnt bolted on yet as it still needs paint haha, i did Jb Weld it where it cracked though
I hate the EGR!
i could paint it but its just going to burn right off :P

My alternator... cleaned it up a little with a small wire brush and added some red to it
looked like total crap before but now it looks a tad better, cant afford a new one just for the clean looks
haha this one still works fine

BTW - About your vac lin issues, you know those lines also need extended to meet where the TB now is?
Other work around is something documented on the Bonnie thread. Plug the port on the TB. Then drill/tap and put a fitting on the UIM where those lines plug in. At that point you could use 2 pieces of vac line as couplers to those fitting (completely removing the need for that boot).
Just a thought (I know it adds more time and money to the project, but COULD get you away from a "special" part).
Could also try contacting these guys, they seem to have a TON of odd ball stuff.
It's not fashionable, but you could "tape" it. Or possibly fabricate something with some hose and silicon chaulking....
Just some thoughts....
