HD upgrade is a waste of money. The parts that are upgraded are not the parts that break.

If you want to upgrade the trans, you get a TEP built one.

I agree with Chibi, from all I've read a TEP built trans is the way to go. The difference in a HD vs non-HD trans I believe is just the differential, an axel shaft and cover plate. The HD diff a more durable, but again, there are many other "inards" that fail and aftermarket companies supply more durable replacements. I personally hope I won't need to worry about the trans in my Monte for a long time, but if I do, I may consider a TEP trans.

Hi `Frank,
Wish you a safe trip home back to Florida. I also wish you good weather to complete/work on your Monte...These bad tropical storms have been hitting everyday & I think about you trying to work outside on your Monte...

Again, good luck on getting your awesome Monte back on the road..4-Sure

Ahh ok lol it was just a thought we'll see how my trans acts when I get it running again. Hopefully I dont have to replace it anytime soon at least now I can do it myself

Frank I had my hole transmission rebuilt when I had my motor out it cost me $1000 to do it all and is a great piece of mind that I wont have to mess with it or the motor for at least 150,000 + miles

When mine went I had all the money saved up to the Turbo inter-cooler and all the goody's that go along with it for the Monte so that is where the money came from.
It was a tough pill to swallow especially seeings how I was on my way to Canada for The Western Finals in car audio when it blew .

But that was so last year and now I have a new car minus the mileage on the frame of the Monte so it was all worth it and now when I put a turbo on it I won't have to worry about the motor or the trans Axel's or any on the drive train

Got a bunch of stuff back on the motor today! also got my WBS solid motor and trans mounts from Jason yesterday
and Still have some trimming to do on the lower engine mount bracket in order for it to work with my Alum. oil pan really easy to do though
More pictures to come tomorrow when i paint my TB and bolt it up, so yall can see my PCV issue solved

Almost complete!!

the boots on these ZZP wires are a little long and this one was rubbing against the o2 sensor so i wrapped it and the sensor in exhaust repair tape it should keep it from melting it now
