Almost since my first car, I have tried to fill the filter as much as possible without risk of spilling during install. Same logic, avoid a chance that it has a partial "dry" start.

I can't say if it is or is not worth it. As I've told people, takes a minute to mess with, in the grand scheme of things, even if it has no value, you really didn't loose much time for the effort.

 

I truthfully never prefill my oil filter and the Monte has over 190,000 miles.

 

I don't pre fil mines either I jus put oil on the o ring around it ajd screw it on there
