Like what? The 3500 is just a bored 3400... different intake manifolds and throttle body, better flowing exhaust manifolds and that's about it.

You can port the intake manifold and the throttle body, the exhaust manifolds are a stock 'header-like' design. There's really not much for room for upgrades.

If you turbo you'll probably be in the LS4 range of power and have more money into it. Like they said above, why not sell it and buy an 06/07 SS and mod that later on? It will be much more worth it in the end.

I agree with everyone else. If you want to modify to make nice power your best bet is a 00-05 monte ss with a 3800 and turbo that... just keep in mind the more power you make the more that breaks.

If you are hard set on a 7th gen monte buy a ss with the 5.3 already and turbo that (there is a turbo kit made for the 5.3)

Default engine swap

If your buying the V8 LS4 from an Impala, yes, its the same as the MC SS. You'll need to do a lot of other upgrades to make it work.
The Transmission needs changed as well. and that will change everything up to the wheels. Rad is different. Steering rack is different. Even the alt is different than on the LT.
So, if you're buying a used 4T65-HD transmission, it will probably need re-built, as the tranny is the weak point on the LS4's.

Oops sorry,
I just looked back for your location and now see you've given up on the swap.
My 06 SS is for sale, but I'm a long way from Alabama.
