From the look of those picks....

You really need a professional to make that repair work....
As Lou mentioned...

It truly needs to be "straight" and accurately replaced...
Im sure theres someone out there in your area..That would be capeable of doing it correctly!
Since alignment is so critical !!!
Functionality and most of all safety!....For yourself as well as others on the road!

I agree to rollback it to the repair facility...

Looking at all that cancer around where that frame member is, I question how well a piece welded in will hold up.
At this junction, I think before you go any further, you need to do a couple of things:
- Examine the condition of the metal underneath (not just in that area). Is it still solid? Can you poke parts of it with you finger for instance? Is there a high probability that more situations like this one are instore for you?
- What is the cost of this repair going to be (again, have a professional examine it, as it may involve rebuilding the metal in that region).
- What is you goal with this car (drive it until the wheels fall off, restore it)?

I'm NOT going to sit here and say the car is done for (I can't see enough of it to make that call). All I am saying is make sure you don't chase good money after bad on this.
