I had a 225 50 18.. never rubbed, even with heavy system in the trunk. But I thought they were way to tall. I think a 225 45 18 or even a 235 or 245 40 18 would look good.

Default 235/50-18

I may be late in this but I have 235/50-18's on 18x9 rims and they do rub in the rear when you have weight in the trunk, or someone in the backseat, or when you corner hard. Fortunately its my wifes car and she rides alone most of the time. Going to 245/45-18 when its time for new tires. Hope this helps.

I have them on my 01.

I did lose some ride quality over the original but handling is better.

Default help with wheels

need some help with what i should do to get my wheels to not rub my strut plates.. i got an 02 monte carlo ls. i was running 245/35/20s got tired of the ****ty gas milage i was getting.. i went out and got some 235/50/18 off an 07 monte carlo ss. im not looking to go out and get 2 new back tires, if i get a pair of wheel spacers in the back about 1inch thick would it rub still? hope one of you guys can help me out.

I don't like to give the "cheap" fix, and recommend someone to run a spacer. If you don't want to rub, you either need the correct size, or a much stronger strut and spring.

Or drop the weight in the rear of the car for now until you can get a proper fix
