Help with new wheels and tires
whats up fellas...im getten some new wheels for my 02 monte ss...but i want a tire with some meat on it...im getten 18x8 wheels, but i was wondering will 235 or 225/50 would fit on my car without any rubbing or anything? All the wheel websites recommend 40 or 45....but i dont want any low profile tires....i live in n.y and theres pot holes everywhere...i would love it, if 50's would fit

Even a sub box drops backend on a 6th gen a guy on this forum had that prob. I would go to plazza tire or something and talk to a pro when you get into diff tire sizes it throws off speedo and mileage. And when you go bigger like that it might cause tickets cus you think your doing 77 but your actually doing 83. Try and stay as close to stock diameter as possible so an inch bigger rim means you lose an inch of rubber which isnt much just half inch on the profile.

I'd just run 245/45/18. They look plenty beefy on 18s in my opinion and you shouldn't run into any issues with them. After dropping a tire size on mine and the problems it created, I'll use nothing but stock/recommended sizes from now on.

Many members have put on the 18s from the 06/07 and they rub on their strut plate.
