Question 01 SS Shaking under acceleration

Hi all,

First off I have lost overdrive in the tranny and plan to replace it in 2 weeks. Not sure if this is the cause of my issues.

ABS and Traction control warning lights stay on and car shakes violently under acceleration in right hand turns (fine in left turns) and when car is going straight and hitting dips in road. As soon as I let off the accelerator under both conditions, the shaking stops and the car drives smooth.

I have changed the passenger cv joint, all struts and shocks, new tires....

Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help

Thanks for the reply chibiblacksheep,

I will go ahead and replace that as well

I just posted in the engine forum about my motor mounts. I just noticed they are about to fall apart. Could bad mounts cause this issue?

before you just replace it, get those lights read. It should tell you which hub assembly is at fault.

I say the driver's side because it happens in a right hand turn, but double check with a code reader.

motor mounts could be a cause, but i dont think its THE cause. wheel hub assembaly sounds right. if your gonna replace the dogbones, i'd go with the shortened dogbones zzp or wbodystore offer.

bad motor mounts could certainly cause the shaking...and will make it shudder under acceleration. it will also amplify the problem when turning

sounds like a multitude of issues, man!

i concur with the wheel hub, as far as the ABS light goes, but yes i would pay the shop to run the codes (have to have a specific scanner for ABS codes)

the motor mouns can certianly cause shaking, when you're turning and accellerating, you're exerting different forces on the motor mouts than just going straight. However, depending on the issues with the trans, that can contribute as well.
