Default Loss of A/C Air Under Acceleration (fix) - 5th gen

Thanks to a friend, I was able to fix a problem with the air not blowing out from the front vents under acceleration.

Turns out that since there is very limited room under the hood, the vacuum tank was placed behind the headlamp. Heat, moister and cold would destroy the plastic line that was used by GM.

I was asked by a few members about the fix and so i decided to make a quick tutorial on how to get to it and to repair it.

Tools: Panel popper, vacuum line hose, and a knife.

First this is to remove the plastic bolt that is holding the bumpercap to the radiator support.

After that has been removed, start taking of the two (2) bolts that are holding the light to the core support. One on each side.

next you will lift the bupercap and slide the headlamp to the right.

Once that is clear, you can just let it hang for a bit while you are getting to the tank.

Now you are able to see the tank that sometimes causes the problem.

Now remove the old hose and start placing a new rubber one in its place.

The other end will come out next to the battery and connect to a plastic valve. I just replaced the whole hose.

Once you have done that, you can retrace your steps by reinstalling your headlamp.
