Default What a sweet ride!

Alright. I've had this car for almost two months now. I've mostly been driving it around town to do errands and such. Fun and nice to drive. Then, this past weekend, I drove it to visit my daughter about 5 hours away. Wow! AMAZING! This thing is such a pleasure to drive. Once on the freeway I set the cruise control and just relaxed and steered! So easy. I'm a tall guy and this car has fabulous leg room. I never felt cramped or uncomfortable. The suspension is wonderful. It was like floating on a cloud. The steering was easy and responsive. On my return trip, I was having such a nice time driving that I decided to take a scenic route. This added another hour to the drive bringing the total to 11 hours (roughly) behind the wheel over three days. This car was made for road tripping! It's cool how it slices through the air whether it's wind or the wake of an 18 wheeler, it holds the road steady. I've been in the limousine business for 30 years and driven many Lincolns and Cadillacs and none of them were as sweet as this Monte Carlo! I can't believe Chevrolet discontinued them. If I could just find a way to get paid to drive it....

Yes there a lot nicer to drive then the limousines than I use too repair. Still have nightmares from working on them stinkin ( Lincoln) clown cars with the A.c. never working right Glad you're enjoying your Monte.

Glad to hear you are enjoying it! I like mine a LOT more after getting rid of the AFM. It's the most enjoyable to drive car I've ever owned.

It's an '07 LT. I believe that some of the suspension and steering components were replaced before I purchased it. I didn't know you could stop the AFM! I have been driving Suburbans with that for the last 10+ years and am sure that is what causes them to burn oil like crazy! You learn something new every day. As for the limos and their AC, we had trouble with all of them. Ford or GM. Didn't matter.I think it had more to do with the size of the radiator. Builders and buyers chose the cheap route so they could spend on luxury items instead. Try explaining that to a wedding party on a hot summer afternoon. They really don't want to hear it. Especially if they've been in a church without air conditioning!

My 2007 with 32k on the clock is super fun to drive. I also take it to many car meets instead of my Vette's. That's how much I like it.

My 2006 SS is my show car and fair weather driver. Hit multiple events a year. Mostly original with subtle mods. Got 95k miles on it but typically don't roll over 1k miles a year now. Mostly original paint, original interior, original wheels, original engine and drivetrain.
