The heads are already done, valves and all. I know the manley valves are better, but i think they are heavier. As is the exhaust valves are about the same weight as the stock ones. the intake are a little lighter. The main issue people had with the Si Valves was with turbo builds where they would run heavy springs on them. I'm going to be using L76 springs which are quite tame. Hind sight is 20/20... If i were to buy valves again i would have gotten better ones. Also i never would have sold the 1.8 SLP rockers i had.

From page one "with only the air intake - ported TB - HV3 - Speed Daddy Headers - Full exhaust, I put down a 14.95@91.47"

My car started life as a 96z34 with the 3.4L DOHC engine. When I swapped to the 3800, I installed it with headers, full exhaust, my fwi/cold air intake, and tuning via my DHP. By the time I took it to the track I got a HV3 for it. The result is the time above. Oh... Also in NA form via tuning I saw zero gain in running 89,91,93 vs 87 fuel. I tuned for both and neither would allow more timing. Save money and run 87 while NA on the l36

I also agree the topswap is the more effective way to go. More power for money and more room for upgrades later. Headers are a pain to install as the fire wall needs cut and then pounded in. But it's worth the effort. Also having your own tuner, preferably a DHP powertuner, I feel is a must. I have better then factory drivability and safety. Power deliver/ transition from boost to cruse is seamless. It shifts smooth when normal driving and locks hard when I get on it. Air fuel is darn near +- .1 afr and fuel trims average less then 1% variance. Because of my heavy foot and short trips to work my mpg suffers, but it's a blast. Getting he topswap dialed in this perfect has taken 3-4 months but utilized my almost 10 years of tuning these cars. With my current mods, cai, ported; tb,blower, intake, fully ported heads with SI valves, L76/G8 springs, headers, light weight pushrods, 3.29 geared trans, and tuning with wide band o2, the car put down a 13.91@99.8 mph in street trim full weight on a stock pulley!

I now have a VS cam ready to go in and will be picking up a MPS pulley system. The idea is to have two tunes. One daily driving with a stock 3.8 pulley and another with a smaller pulley like a 3.4 or 3.5. My mods with a cam prob would allow me I run a 3.3 or even 3.2 but I think I would need injectors and would rather run on the safe side of supporting mods. High compression and boost aren't normal friends.
