14.95 NA with no valve train mods.

Ok so I took the car to the track last week to put down a base line to see what just the swap got me and to have a before number to compare to after doing the topswap. with only the air intake - ported TB - HV3 - Speed Daddy Headers - Full exhaust, I put down a 14.95@91.47 I wasnt expecting it. was guessing closer to 15.1-15.3 this time puts me very close to what i ran with my DOHC engine setup. Also factor in my DOHC's 14.81 was when it was very cold out and the 14.9 i did not remove the spare tire, tools, sub box, had 3/4 tank of gas and i have gained prob 30lbs since those days. So at min a 100+ weight increase.

What's the curb weight on your car? Any idea the type of horsepower it's making now? Not a bad time, don't see those 3.4's hitting 14's very often.

That isn't bad at all!

This is a 3800. My 3.4 hit a 14.8

What is a stock time in a 3800? About 15.5?

z34phoenix 04-06-2013 08:15 PM

15.8 for the 98-99 Z34 w/ 3800 and 15.7 for the 96-97 Z34 w/ the DOHC

I was talking to a co-worker about bringing my Monte up to New England Dragway and run it as is to get a baseline number before I add the Wizaird CAI. I am not going to go crazy with motor work as I am on a small budget. My Monte has dual exhaust system on it already. The previous owner put it on. That is the only mod on it. I am interested to see the time I get with my 3.4. If I get the chance to do it this summer, I will post my results.

That's actually pretty amazing. Nice job phoenix! I remember when I did a bone stock run in my Monte (15.7) and when I FINALLY broke into the 14's. You make it look easy, especially with that decent 60' time. Can't wait to see what your Monte runs with a top swap.

Man I always thought you were boosted... hmm...

Great time though! :) Keepin' up with those L67s

Thanks guys. yeah I have always been NA. the plan is to install the topswap this summer. I have matched up a north star for it but am going to test a L67 TB i have ported as well. If i dont out flow the l67 then i wll leave it as I'll prob get better low end power with the smaller TB then with the northstar. Im hoping for mid 13's out of the car with when i install the topswap. considering it has been said a topswap drops about 1 sec in the 1/4, factor in the ported blower, tb, ported heads and Si Valve.... I think mid 13's will be doable.
