I just felt that they came off as potentially rude to some of the people here. Still says what needs to be said, so all is good!

I know there are others that have been effected by this so hopefully they speak up and let everyone know!

July 6th, 2013-I sent Mike $30 for a custom fuse box cover. He informed me he already had one made and that he just had to polish it. (I requested it to have a polished metal look) He then told me he was going to ship it 15 minutes later.

July 11th, 2013-After 5 days of not receiving my part, I contacted him via Facebook to ask if he had shipped it, which he replied "Just did post offic closed early Saturday and Fridays are my off days, shouldget therequick"

July 18th,2013-Contacted him again after still not having received my part. Claimed he had shipped it the Friday prior. I had him verify me on what address he shipped it to, which was in fact the correct address. Mike then told me to tell him if it came the next day. If it didn't, he planned on making a second one and shipping it via UPS (instead of USPS, which he claimed to have used first)

August 20, 2013-Sent him a message on Facebook after still not receiving my fuse box cover.

I am still currently waiting upon the arrival of my fuse box cover, but my faith in it coming is on a steep downfall.

Remember, as long as you used PayPal properly by NOT gifting the money and telling PayPal you were buying goods/service from someone, you do have the ability to dispute the transaction.

I can tell you from experience it sucks to have a transaction disputed (PayPal freezes you from using your account to buy or sell). I had a buyer dispute a transaction with me because they did not recognize it on their charge card statement. When I spoke to them, they then realized the transaction and agreed there was nothing wrong with it. Sadly, it took about a month to get my account back the way it needed to be (due to no fault of my own and no issues with my end of the transaction).

I believe he had told me to gift him the money, maybe that should have been a heads up

It's not always a heads up. PayPal charges a fee when you send money, so if you "gift" the money, you pay the fees instead, that way the seller gets the full amount. Since adding the 3% fee to the sale price to cover fees is actually against PayPal's TOS.

But the bad thing is, like Jason said, you lose your ability to dispute the charge when something goes wrong.

Unless they are a personal friend (very few are) I always do it without the gift. The fees aren't much.

Admittedly, I hate how PayPal passes the fees on to the seller's end. I see it like sales tax, when I go to a store and buy something, sales tax is not included in the price, the store doe snot just "absorb" that cost, they turn around and charge the tax to me.

Sorry, that was a tad off topic. REGARDLESS of my personal opinion about PayPal fees, paying those fees does infact buy you a LOT of safety. PayPal is very much on the side of the buyer.

Just to see about a correction, Mitch, are you referring to member 03JGMonte? As 03JGSS doesn't come up in a member search.

Yes. I changed the title of the thread to correct the user name.
