thanks everyone, im was wishing they would total the car i hate it but there not going to so now im deciding if i wanna take the insurance check and fix it myself or just let the body shop do the work. i could fix it cheaper and pocket some of the insurance money but i dont know if i wanna mess with having to do the work lol. yes the deer was dead on impact, if it wasnt i would of put it out of its misery (this is a perfect example of why i carry a pistol) anyways the yellow grill is on it because someone stole the black one off the car when it was sitting at the park and ride when i was at work one day so my buddy had a yellow one and was like here dude you can have it and get it painted if u want. well i just put it on and never painted it and its funny because you can see it a few ways:

its a transformers edition cavalier

its a steelers edition cavalier

... Or it's a Cavalier that attracts deer! Maybe he was just trying to get a closer look to see what it was...

I hit one with my monte carlo in January of this year goin about 70. Had to get a new headlight, driver door, hood, and front bumper. Luckily my insurance covered it. Was very happy when they finally got my car fixed.

you got some damage as well!

well i got the word from the insurance company and they are saying there is just under $3,000 in damage minus my deductible i will be getting a check for just under $2,000.

i am thinking instead of having the body shop fix it and me having to come up with $1,000 deductible i am just going to take the $1,800 and fix it myself. i can get all the parts i need and paint supplies for under $1,000 and that will leave me with about $800 for turbo monte mod money thoughts?

Maybe you can find some per-painted wrecker parts to install? A fender hood and bumper can't be that much, can it?

That sounds like an awesome plan. Try car-part.com. You may be able to find the parts you need in the correct color used. Just pay for shipping and then it's a simple bolt and go job.

all of the parts i can get new off of ebay (bumper, hood, fender, inner fender, head light) for just over $300. the door ill fix and then paint will be around $300. (guessing on paint cost) i checked car-part.com but nothing caught my eye. the body on this car was perfect so i dont wanna put dinged up/scratched parts on it lol. dont forget once it gets fixed its for sale again because once the cavalier sells this guy is getting a 2012 camaro ss

New EBAY parts are going to be overseas stamped crap. Fit and finish will be an issue. You are better off with used OEM parts than new poor quality aftermarket. Just my opinion. Good luck with whatever route you go.
