I miss the old days of rear wheel drive. Engine or tranny changes in those were a piece of cake. I really hated doing them in a front wheel drive although doing a Subaru isn't bad.

Ive done 2 or 3 front wheel drive cars and I have still pulled them out the top. Maybe If I do another i'll drop the cradle.

If it was any other car i would have done it from the top but beign a buick Rendezvous, the motor is tucked halfway under the windshield/cowel area so eve if i wanted to i couldn't, one of the guys in my club says it's doiable if you take it down to just a blcok

the 3400 sfi sit about even with edge if cowel area...

Some more work done yesterday, pulled off all the brackets and crap i need for the new motor and decided i'm going to sell the heads and intake on it for them to get thier core charge back becuase the gas bringin this thing back up there would be dumb...

but tore it down to basicly a block and i was correct spun rod bearing like a ****... probable cause oil starvation... looks to me that oil passages got block with sludge... i know my sister isn't the best at getting her oil changes but this looks to be long term starting long befor my sister......
CHANGE YOUR OIL PEOPLE!!!!!

tore off the top of the new motor to do the gaskets and MAN this motor is in beautiful shape!!!!

She runs she drives, but it's running really rich I'm thinking the 02 sensor from the donor motor is toast so i'll be swapping that out to the one from the truck origionally, now just a few small things to finish,

Glad you got it finished. Now make sure she changes her oil regularly.
