Beautiful Monte.

I'd love to manual shift my '86 LS. But in the need to stay in reality if my g/f ever needed to use the car the transmission would be scrap by the time she got to the stop sign, 20 feet away.

I've tried to teach her to drive a manual shift car but she has no patience for it.

That's one thing I guess I am lucky to have - my fiancee always had standard vehicles until recently... she's yet to drive the Monte since the 5-speed swap though. I'm the opposite - I never drove standard until I bought my beater DD Saturn a few years back. I guess you can say I got hooked and the Monte suddenly seemed boring to drive... which had to be rectified

 

I have a neighbour who is just the opposite. She buys nothing but manual trannies because her boyfriend can't drive a stick.
