I try to avoid 71 and 480 during rush hour.
I used to work in Westlake so 71 to 480 was my daily route, it was such a pain because no one wants to let you on and you've got like 20 seconds before you drop off... I just started checking things out as I came around the bend off 71 and the first opening I saw, kick it and go...

My Silverado is the same way, it's large and loud (the Vortec 5300 V8 helps, too).

Our truck is only as loud as a stock F150 (not much there). But it was bought to be a beater work truck and a spare vehicle. We put MAYBE 3000-5000 miles year on it.

I think I forgot to mention the "beater" part. Having dings and dents in it WITH the push bar makes it a bit intimidating.

@Bumpin - I just read your post. I noticed you said you were in the Impala and shoulda stood your ground.... I'd be afraid if you did that, we may never see another post from ya. That rate of speed, I question if someone in either car would survive (and if they did, how badly messed up would they be). Hands down, I think you did right by trying to stay clear.

I've thought many times, "if I only had a truck I didn't care about scraping up, I'd ..." It's probably a good thing I don't. Because I'd end up in jail after issuing some vigilante justice on idiots like that guy in the original post.
