Default Almost..bought this today

I almost bought this 67 Camaro today. It was a real clean body no rust and little repair but someone changed out the engine and trans. It was an automatic (which is still on the column) and it is now a 4 speed. I have not driving a car with no power steering or power brakes in years it was like a truck. It would take some getting used to. They wanted 17.5k

In my opinion:

It looks ok...for a convert...
However, Thats way to much money for a "NON" matching numbers Camaro!!!!

But I would only consider buying one that has all matching number parts...(Motor,Trans color stripes etc)

It's a decent price but I hate that people put 69 spoilers on the 67s & 68s (the 67 never came with a spoiler). Even non matching #'s 1st gen camaros are getting upper $20,00-$30,000 at auction. Since it's not numbers matching you could always paint it another color & change the interior color - but I'm not sure you want to spend $20,000 + the cost of the changes you would want to make on a project car.

Looks good to me and the I agree with Awesome SS, $17.5 is a good price even with non matching #s. To me, even the color looks good on it though would have to agree about the '69 spoiler. 406 SB and a 4 speed should haul pretty good also, if the frame and body are sound, the paint good and everything works, and I was in the market for a first gen Camaro, I think I would have a hard time walking away from that one. Love the original ralley's with the old style retro bias tires... though they definetly are for show and not go, if you were going to drive it much you'd have to put a set of radials on it.

I think that seems a little high for a non matching car but they are harder to find every day. You should buy this one. It is the same color, numbers matching and less money. Chevrolet : Camaro camaro in Chevrolet | eBay Motors

Still kicking it around but would need to convert it to disc brakes in the front and maybe power brakes and steering. If they would go down on price more I would. Interior needs a little work but not bad...

It looks ok but I still agree with the others. I'd say too much money for a convert. However I might be saying something different if it were black lol I hate gold.

looks good but non numbers thats to high. Auctions give people a over inflated sense of valure for these cars. The people who go to auctions are the ones with extra money they can spend on a impulse. Thats maybe the upper 10%. The rest of us pay what its worth.
