I am wondering why you replaced the heating core. I have been experiencing problems with heating. I was hearing sounds behind the dashboard, I described it like when you have a mostly empty bottle of water lying around in the car and the water is splashing around in the bottle. I could hear this sound frequently, mostly when I accelerated. After a driving for a while, the car would get warm and the air coming out of the vents would be only minimally warm. Now I don't hear any noises and there is NO hot air coming out of the heater.

Thanks!

Check your coolant levels.. it sounds like you are low on coolant. Heater Core symptoms is that when you have your blower on the windows will fog up quick because of the glycol in the coolant. Also you will have wet carpet because the coolant will leake from the heater core out the HVAC center under the dash, and you will smell that sweet but not good smell of antifreeze quite strongly.
